Kalavathi Movie Review

Sunder C ‘s “Kalavathi” is out now. This movie is a sequel of “Aranmani (Chandrakala)”. Hanshika is respiring the role of unsatisfied spirit and Siddarth, trisha & Sunder c  playing the crucial role.

Story:

Story is similar to the first installment Chndrakala. Murali (Siddarth) was called back to his native place due to his father’s ill health. He came to the place with his  fiancĂ© Anitha (Trisha). After his arrival weird things started happening.

Like the first part here also Anitha has a brother (Sunder C) and he came to the rescue. He arranged some video cameras to know the truth. After  a horrible incident, everyone saw the video footage and shocked at it. The video showed Kalavathi (hanshika) Murali’s sister.

So the rest of the story revolves how Kalavathi became a spirit and how they get rid form her.

Positive Points:

Sunder C’s direction and screenplay is the biggest asset of the movie. Second half of the movie hold the real intense and make you to move to the edge of the seats. He also filled the movie with required amount of comedy.

Trisha and hansika played the two crucial roles in the movie, In them Hansika stole the credit with her sentimental acting. She did managed to make everyone believe the situation with her acting. On the other hand trisha also impressed in big time as she look very gorgeous in first half and horrified in the second half.

Sunder C is dis the same thing as he did in the first part. Siddarth also showed his acting talent and supported well the main characters in the flick.

Second half is the main plus as it contain all the spooky scenes and the screenplay is bit racy.

Negative Points:

As we said second half is plus, first half on the other hand is very boring. It lacks logic and also lacks the horror element. The placement of the songs also killed the tempo, it would have been better if removed.

Script also lacks clarity in the first half.

Technical Dept:

In this department Visuals team did a better job as they improvised form the first part. Music by Hip hop Thamiza is below par and none of the song gain popularity. Background music is also so so. Camera work and editing are good.

Coming to the director Sunder C, he did a splendid job. He managed to keep the intense and suspense from the interval to the end, but he failed to impress in the first half, he could have filled it with sentiment and horror elements.

Verdict:

Movie is good, it is a pasisa vasol movie, first halfmay be boring but second half is very wisely palnned with comedy and horror elements.
