Story :-
As this
movie is based on real events took place in history, it is a known concept. In
ancient dynasty of Kakatiya situated in Orugallu a powerful king Raja Ganapathi
Devudu (KrishnamRaju) ruled over it. He doesn’t have any male successor to take
his throne. Later his wife gave birth to a female child named as Rudramma Devi (Anushka).
Ganapathi
Devudu feared that enemy would start attack his country if came to know that
there is no male successor for the kingdom. SO king ganapathi declared Rudramma
Devi as a male prince named Rudra Devudu. Rudramma
Devi was raised as a warrior but with hidden identity.
So now what
happens if kingdom people comes to know about the hidden identity. What were
the role of Gona ganna Reddy (Allu Arjun) & Chalukya (Rana Daggubati) in
the story is to be seen in the theater.
Positive Points :-
The main
plus points of these kind of huge budget movies were the visual effects. Here
in this movie VFX is not so great but it looks as we compare to the budget.
Camera works & detailing of the kingdom is nice. Secondly the main
attraction is Allu Arjun as Gona Ganna Reddy, he just perfect in the role. A
little humor touch in & his telangana accent is very nice to watch.
Anushka did a nice job in the lead role. She worked hard
it seems in war episodes. She looks very glamorous in songs. Other characters
like Krishnam Raju, Prakash Raj, Rana, & Suman were good in their part.
Negative Points:-
The draggy
scenes in between & excess detailing of things made this movie bit slow
& boring. Songs were not worthy to
listen, due to the presence many characters in the movie their intro is not
well & were lack of emotions.
Screenplay
is not so good, & second half is very draggy.
Technical Dept :-
In Technical
department music is first to be talk about, Ilayaraja is a bad choice for this
movie, his music is below par. Background is also just average.
Except the
music other technical departments did their work well. Camera work is good.
Dialogs were written well especially Allu Arjun dialogs were nice & funny.
VFX works
were nice in some places & in some places it looks like cartoon. Direction
by Gunasekhar is good; as it is his dream project he put his soul in it. But he
failed to raise the required emotions in the main characters. Otherwise he did
a mie job.
Verdict:-
First half
of the movie is good & interval twist is also nice. But the second half was
completely carried away with unnecessary lengthy scenes. Allu Arjun’s character came out well. VFX is
just average.
The movie
worth a watch once.
