After a long
gap comedian turned Hero Sunil came with a different subject. Till date he did
only comedy based movies, while in this time in “Krishnastami” he did a serious role. This movie will also decide
his career graph further.
Story:
Krishna
(Sunil) is a NRI who left India long back. He tried many a times to visit India
but was halted by his family in India. Frustrated with this, he planned to come
to India without informing anybody. But when he landed here he was attacked by
some unknown persons. Luckily escaped from them Krishna again stuck in a
situation, which lead him to Rayalaseema.
Here also a
family is waiting to kill him. Now who are these people who are trying to kill
him, what is their relationship with a NRI. How Krishna did solved all the
problems, holds rest of the story.
Positive Points:
There are
only few plus points in the movie, Sunil’s dance and action episodes are well
choreographed. Especially the chase scene was well shot. There are few twists
in the movie, which were well executed.
Heroine
Nikki Garlani did a decent job in her debut. All the other characters sis their
part well and supported the lead pair.
Negative Points:
As plus
points are few, obviously minus points will be more. First thing is hero
character, Sunil is the wrong choice for the script. People were habituated to
see Sunil in comic roles, so in this movie his serious character didn’t connect
with the audience.
First half
is good but second half of the movie is very much dragged. Songs were wrongly
placed and will test your patience to the limit. Many unimportant scenes are
needed to be trimmed as they spoil the mood.
Technical Dept:
In this
department cinematographer Chota K Naidu bagged major credit. It was his camera
work which took the movie in to whole new level. Production values are good as
every scene looks very rich. Other department like art work, music are just
average. Editing is below par as there are many scenes to be edited.
Director
Vasu Verma direction is below average. His script may be good, but he failed to
show that on screen. He spoiled many things by complicating them with
unnecessary sentiments. His songs placement gone wrong and they spoiled the
mood.
Verdict:
This is
expected from Sunil after a long gap. He was well known for his comic timing
and innocent acting. But he tried something new, which didn’t gone well. First
half of the movie is pretty decent, which second half is not so good. Songs are
below average and also their placements. This is just a one time watch movie
