The much
awaited Mahesh Babu’s “Brahmotsavam”
movie released today worldwide. After a blockbuster of “Srimanthudu”, Mahesh opted for a complete family entertainer
without any mass elements. Let’s see how the movie is.
Story:
As it a
family entertainer, we can’t have any suspense elements or high voltage action
sequences. The storyline is quite simple. Chantabbaiae (Satya Raj) is a
businessman in vijaywada. His son is Mahesh Babu, who is a very friendly in
nature. Chantabbaie likes to be in a joint family and that is why he made all
his relatives in a single house.
But one day
a huge fight started in the family due to Rao Ramesh. In this
inscident,Chantabbai gets depressed and died. After his death whole family gets
disturbed and gets separated. Now it’s up to Mahesh Babu that how he gets his
family together and knows the value of relationship is rest of the movie.
Positive Points:
The first
plus point is direction and script. Srikanth Addala is to be praised as he
managed to show a mass action hero in a different way. He stick to the script
and showed what he wanted to show. His main focus is to show the values in
joint family and how a man can get happiness in helping others.
Coming to
the lead characters Mahesh babu is the main attraction of the movie as he
mesmerizes with his acting as well as with his charm. He was pretty good in
comic scenes and in sentiment scenes.
All the
female leads, Kajal and Samntha did their part well and bagged appreciation.
Other main characters like Rao Ramesh and Satya Raj were very good in their
part and proved why are they so important in family movies. The second half of
the movie is quite good as it shows the journey of Samantha and Mahesh Babu in
search of happiness.
Negative Points:
The main
minus point in the movie is its narration time. Being a family entertainer,
it’s narration is very slow and makes you feel bore in some scenes. For
commercial movie lovers this movie is a setback as they will not get connected
to it.
There are
also few scenes which seems to be unnecessary and make you feel like déjà vu.
Technical Dept:
Production
values are pretty good and the whole movie looks lavish. Locations were pretty
well selected. Screenplay and dialogs written by Srikanth addala is pretty good
and showed his talent pretty well. Camera work by Ratnaveelu is awesome and so
the music by Mickey J Meyer.
Coming to
the direction Srikanth has proved that he has his own brand in making movies
and he raised his bars with Brahmostavam. His script and his screenplay were
major assets of the movie. Now he will be counted in the league of big
directors.
Verdict:
As we
already told you it is complete family movie, youth may feel a boring to watch
it. But the presence of Mahesh and Samantha kept the fun and glamour alive in
the movie. Family audience will enjoy it to the core and they will have a real
time watching it. First half is good and interval bang is very nice. It is a
must watch movie.
