Among half a
dozen projects, Nara Rohit’s first movie “Tuntari”
hit the screens today. This is an official remake of Tamil Super hit movie “Maan Karate”. Rohit is playing a boxer
role in the movie.
Story:
This is a
very new story to Tollywood, written by A R Murugodoss. The story starts with a
group of software employees, who were out for a vacation. There they got a news
paper from a swamy ji (Holy Saint) which is four months in advance.
In that
paper they read that they along a boxer named Raju (Nara Rohit) won a boxing
championship which is worth 5 crs. Now they started their hunt for the guy
named Raju and finally got him.
But to their
surprise they found that he is a careless boy with no job, and he loves a girl
Latha Hedge. So how they managed him to get in boxing and how Raju won the
boxing match is rest of the story.
Positive Points:
As we told
earlier story of the movie is new and gripping. But here in Telugu version they
made some changes. Coming to the performances Nara Rohit did his best and
carried his comic timing throughout the movie. His acting in climax is
appreciable.
Heroine
Latha Hedge made a promising debut but she has less screen presence. Other
characters like Vennela Krishore, Shakalaka Shankar did well to make audience
laugh.
Kabir Khan
looks nice in villain role. But he didn’t got any chance to show off his
talent. As per movie, first half is good with lots of comedy and last 30mins
were highlight of the movie.
Negative Points:
Major minus
is songs, they are good, but in a racy screenplay they act like hurdles.
Especially in the second half they will irritate you. Another minus is baseless
second half. It lacks the energy like in the first half. Nara Rohit may have
impressed with acting, but he needs to reduce his weight as he looks very odd
in that figure.
Technical Department:
Editing is
just average as there are some boring scenes to be edited. Production values
are good, so as the camera work. Songs by Sai Karthik is nice but their
placement is bad. Dialogs and art direction are well managed.
Director
Kumar Nagendra failed to repeat the magic this movie created in Tamil (original
version). There are many loop holes in the second half. He should have deleted
the songs for a better result. However he managed well in the climax and
executed it well.
Verdict:
It is not as
good as expected, but first half and climax will bind you to the seats. A
better second half and edited songs would have a magical package for the movie.
